Taiwan Says Chinese Launched New Large-Scales Air-Force Incursions

Taiwan fighters scrambled to warn away 39 aircraft on Sunday reported the largest incursion since October.

 

The latest Chinese mission included 34 fighters plus four electronic warfare aircraft and a single bomber, the Taiwan ministry said.

On Monday, 13 Chinese fighters breached country's early-identification air-defence zone.

The aircraft flew in an area to the northeast of the Pratas, according to a map the ministry provided.

Taiwan sent combat aircraft to warn away the Chinese aircraft, while missile systems were deployed to monitor them, the ministry said.

Taiwan defence ministry for the first time reported that J-16D electronic warfare platform jet were among the Chinese air-force group. The attack aircraft is equipped with a large electronic jamming pod that can attack radar and hide for it
