World Imams Council Ban Muslims From Attending Beijing Olympics

The imams emphasised that the event serves the interests of a tyrannical and oppressive regime.

 

The Global Imams Council that present itself, as the largest non-governmental body of Muslim leaders from all Islamic Denominations and Schools of thought, has banned Muslims from participating in and attending the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,

The organization announced its decision in the statement published on their website.

We stand in support of, and united with, the oppressed Uyghur Muslims, the author of the statement said. The Chinese Government continues to violate Chinese Muslims' basic human and fundamental rights through oppression, torture, and dictatorship, the author emphasised.

The group ruled that participation and attendance in the Beijing 2022 Olympics was prohibited.

This event directly serves the interests of a tyrannical and oppressive regime that is responsible for the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Uyghurs, the author of the Global Imams Council concluded.
