Armenia Prime Minister was forced to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan in the presence of Russian leader.

On the night of November 10, the heads of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia announced the end of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the same time, a text of 9 points of the agreement signed by the parties appeared in the media. Two sources of Russian RBC newspaper - in the Armenian and Russian diplomatic departments - confirmed that this text corresponds to what the parties agreed on. A source in the Armenian Foreign Ministry added that “minor changes” were made to the final version, but they are not significant.

According to the agreement, Armenia must pass three regions, the majority of Nagorno-Karabakh, to Azerbaijan by December 1, 2020. About two-thirds of the contested region goes under the control of Baku abolishing the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. Armenia has to leave Shushi, the city, which is a symbol for its Christian culture.

I understand that I am obliged to provide information, but now I cannot yet. I will say one thing for now. This decision was made as a result of an analysis of the military situation and the advice of people who knew the situation best of all, Prime Minister of Armenia Nichol Pashinyan stated.

The text of the already published statement is inexpressibly painful for me personally and for our people, added Mr. Pashinyan.

Russia discussed the text of document with Azerbaijan excluding Armenia authorities from the talks.

Putin rushed signing of the peace agreement which favors Azerbaijan
and ignores interests of Armenia

Mr Pashinyan has revealed that the sides signed the agreement in Russian city of Sochi in Crimea, at 1.00 a.m. of the local time.

Armenia President Mr. Armen Sarkisyan has informed journalists that he was not informed about the agreement.

The journalists learned from the unofficial sources that Russia took the side of Azerbaijan abandoning Armenia. He did not participate in any preliminary talks.

President of Artsakh Mr. Arayik Arutunyan revealed that he discussed ending the military operation on Monday and received the consent of the overwhelming majority of the National Assembly of Artsakh.

Given the current dire situation, to avoid further heavy losses and the complete loss of Artsakh, I agreed to end the war an hour earlier. As for the signed tripartite statement, I will elaborate on it later, stated Mr. Arutunyan.

The political enemies of current Armenia Prime Minister
exploited the peace agreement as an excuse to cause social unrest in the country.

After the announcement of the peace agreement, hundreds of supporters of the former Prime Minister of Armenia took on the streets of the capital breaking into the government buildings, the Parliament, and injuring the Speaker. The rebels attempted to attack the residence of the Prime Minister.

Sixth transport planes with Russian peacekeepers and heavy equipment have left for Armenia on Tuesday morning. Their mission will expire in 2030.

On Monday, Azerbaijan admitted to have accidentally shot down a Russian attack helicopter over Armenia. The Foreign Ministry apologized to the government in Moscow for the incident and offered compensation. The Russian Defense Ministry had previously announced that two crew members were killed and one crew member was injured in the shooting down. The incident occurred on the border with an area that is part of Azerbaijan.

According to Russian information, helicopters had accompanied a military convoy. Its purpose was not mentioned. Russia has a large military base in Armenia, which is about 150 kilometers away from the shooting location. The Russian Defense Ministry announced an investigation.
