World Uyghur Congress thanked the US President Donald Trump Administration for naming Communist China a genocidal state and called President Joe Biden and an international community for action.

The world biggest Uyghur organisation, in the statement, welcomed the decision of the U.S. Department of State to determine China’s repression of the Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples as both “crimes against humanity” and “genocide".

The Uyghur Congress said in the statement said, that the decision of the Trump's Administration should prompt President Joe Biden to take concrete action that will be adequate to the severity of the crisis.

WUC President Mr. Dolkun Isa also called for other states to follow the example of the US Administration.

Mr. Isa called upon the world democracies to make a legal determination on the situation and take appropriate action.

WUC also calls on the international community to make a legal determination on the situation and take appropriate action, including UN member states to call for an independent monitoring mechanism of human rights in China, the statement stressed.

on the situation and take appropriate action.

Today, history has been written not only for Uyghurs but for all of humanity. Uyghurs have been looking for accountability for years, and this is the first time a government designates the Uyghur crisis as a genocide, WUC President Dolkun Isa said. It shows that genocide is not tolerated in the 21st century, and it will hopefully incite other governments to take concrete action, Mr. Isa emphasised.

World Uyghurs Congress President expressed his gratitude to the U.S. government for taking a great deal of responsibility to end the Uyghur genocide. He also thanked all the MPs in the UK who have supported the Genocide Trade Bill and all the civil society organisations.

Communist China's authorities have conducted forced sterilizations and abortions on Uyghur women, coerced them to marry non-Uyghurs, and separated Uyghur children from their families, US State Secretary said in the statement.

CCP guilty of the same crimes which Nazis perpetrated

On Tuesday, the US State Department issued a statement that China ruled by the Chinese Communist Party, committed crimes against humanity.

I believe this genocide is ongoing, and that we are witnessing the systematic attempt to destroy Uyghurs by the Chinese party-state, US State Secretary Mike Pompeo said in the statement.

Among crimes that constitute genocide are the arbitrary imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty of more than one million civilians, forced sterilization, torture of a large number of those arbitrarily detained, forced labor, and the imposition of draconian restrictions on freedom of religion or belief, freedom of expression, and freedom of movement.

The governing authorities of the second most economically, militarily, and politically powerful country on earth have made clear that they are engaged in the forced assimilation and eventual erasure of a vulnerable ethnic and religious minority group, even as they simultaneously assert their country as a global leader and attempt to remold the international system in their image, Mr. Pompeo said in the statement.

Genocide crime constitutes a coordinated plan of the destruction of the sources of life of national groups

In 1944 Polish Jew, lawyer Rafal Lemkin created the term genocide in his book Axis Rule in Occupied Europe. The book describes the implementation of Nazi policies in occupied Europe and cites earlier mass killings.

The word genocide is a combination of the Ancient Greek word génos (γένος, meaning "race" or "people") with the Latin caedere ("to kill").

Mr. Lemkin made clear that the regime does not need to destroy the whole nation to be guilty of the genocide.

Sufficient evidence for the genocide is the coordinated plan of the actions aimed at the destruction of the sources of life for national groups.

The objectives of such a plan would be the disintegration of the political and social institutions, of culture, language, national feelings, religion, and the economic existence of national groups, and the destruction of the personal security, liberty, health, dignity, and even the lives of the individuals belonging to such groups, Mr. Lemkin emphasised.

In December 2020, the World Uyghur Congress, along with over 60 Uyghur organisations around the world, sent a joint letter to Secretary Pompeo urging the U.S. State Department to hold the Chinese government accountable for its serious ‘’crimes against humanity’’ and ‘’genocide’’ against the Uyghur and other Turkic peoples.
